The blade is made by the continual beating/forging process by hand into shape. The blade (with an 8″ cutting edge) is made of high quality carbon steel (leaf springs of trucks or cars, usually from German Mercedes). These are differentially hardened, with water being poured on the edge portion of the blade so that it produces a hard edge, but leaves the spine tough. The grip/handle is a full 5” long.The Full tang handle is made of Indian rose wood. Sheath is made of hand worked water-buffalo leather. The place of origin of the Dargon is in the east Nepal i.e in Dharan. The overall length of the dargon wood handle kukri is 13 inch. The hardness of the steel is spine 22-25 RC, belly 45-46 RC, edge 58-60 RC. The overall weight of the kukri is 675gms.
