Jung Bahadur Kukri(khukuri) is a historical Kukri name after Junga Bahadur Rana (a famous historical leader of Nepal and a founder of a glorious Rana dynasty). The Jung Bahadur Kukri is a very historic and a unique replica of a Kukri once use by Jung Bahadur. The Kukri is similar to the normal kukri is very long and the handled, instead of being of wood, bone or horn, it’s of metal. The handle has grip and base similar to that of a Sword. This Jung Bahadur Kukri is a bit different than the other khukuri , the handle and the blade is a bit different.
The blade length is 13 Inch and unpolished blade, which is a hand made blade. Handle length is 6 Inches and it is a fixed blade handle. Total length of the Jung Bahadur Kukri is 19 inches. Material used in this kukri is Highly Grade Carbon Steel, (car & Jeep leaf spring, 5160)Water Buffalo refine Leather for Scabbard(outside) and Metal Handle, Pinewood for the Scabbard (inside), Laha( Nepali Traditional Glue). The belly is 5.2 cm, drop is 3.8 cm, width at the Ricasso is 10 mm and width at the belly is 9 mm. the net weight of Jung Bahadur Kukri is 1100 gms, but while packaging the overall weight is 1600 gms. Hardness of the steel is spine= 22-25 RC, belly= 45-46 RC, edge= 58-60 RC. Complementary of this kukri is that it have Certificate of Guarantee, Tag, Wrapping Lokta Paper.
Now, the Kukri is made by the eastern part of the Nepal. So this is our own design kukri with modification. It can be used in many part like chopping meats, vegetables, trees etc. this kukri can also be keep at your kukri collection.
